[Wii U] Aperti i preordini per Wiikey U Opzioni

Nelle ultime settimane la scena Wii U è stata scossa dall'annuncio dell'apertura dei preordini per il Wiikey U.
Si tratta di un ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) annunciato circa un anno fa, ma lentamente finito nel dimenticatoio, probabilmente a causa delle difficoltà avute dal team nel trovare una falla nell'hardware del Wii U. Adesso, però, il team sembra essere riuscito nel suo intento, e il Wiikey U è finalmente disponibile per il preordine.
Attraverso i reseller sappiamo che l'ODE dovrebbe essere disponibile verso fine luglio, o comunque entro il mese di agosto.

Dalle informazioni rilasciate si evince che il Wiikey U può essere installato anche da chi ha un minimo di manualità nel disassemblare una console, in quanto questo accessorio non necessita di saldature.
Supporterà tutte le attuali Wii U di qualsiasi regione e con qualsiasi firmware, potrà avviare giochi Wii U e giochi Wii, e sarà inoltre compatibile con qualsiasi tipo di memoria USB formattata con uno dei filesystem compatibili.
Sarà totalmente aggiornabile e riprogrammabile, ed includerà le funzioni recovery mode (utile in caso di update andato male) e pass-through mode (per utilizzare Wii U in modalità normale con i dischi originali).
Il team fa inoltre sapere (tramite ozmodchips) che essendo un hack hardware, dovrebbe essere molto difficile poterlo bloccare tramite system update, ma non assicura una completa protezione dagli aggiornamenti Nintendo.
Col tempo Nintendo potrebbe bloccare il metodo di estrazione della DVD key, o potrebbe anche cambiare il sistema di sicurezza del DVD drive con i nuovi modelli, ma chi ha già l'hardware installato nella propria console dovrebbe essere esente da tutto ciò.
