http://www.g4techtv.com/pulse/episodes/363..._of_110504.html Qui riporto la parte che ci interessa: CITAZIONE If the real dilemma in your life was whether to purchase a Nintendo DS or a Sony PSP, here's some news that might sway you a little towards Nintendo's side. Last week, Sony exec Ken Kutaragi claimed that the PSP's battery could run for four to six hours of gameplay at a pop, but he's since amended his statement by admitting that the PSP would run for only two hours with all features enabled. -------------------- ![]() ![]() -------------------- Codice Amico 3DS 1590-4669-8575 Nintendo Network ID Nintendaro Codice Amico Switch 1662-8175-4905 |

Questo è quello che so io
Fonte http://psp.ign.com/articles/549/549978p1.html CITAZIONE Because there were no AC adapter plugs coming out of the system, it seems reasonable to assume that Sony had all the demos running through battery power. We were at the trial event when it started and left an hour later; the battery meter in the menu screen remained at three notches throughout. You can read into that however you like. SCE is expected to reveal more details on battery life at a later date (and if they don't, you can be sure we'll put the final Japanese retail version through hell and back to determine how long the battery lasts). Fonte http://psp.ign.com/articles/561/561952p1.html CITAZIONE No matter how you use the PSP, battery consumption will certainly be one area of worry. SCE announced earlier this week that the system would be capable of 4 to 6 hours battery life when playing games and 4 to 5 hours when viewing movies off the UMD. The battery life may expand in the future. "In the future, we'd like to have it so that you can use [the PSP] continually between New York and Narita without charging," Kutaragi states. "However, the Walkman originally had a battery that lasted only two hours." Continuing on the topic of battery, he offers: "By extending the amount of battery volume, we were able to create something with very good specifications. However, based on memory and processor use, the amount of power use changes. A puzzle game will offer lengthy time, but Ridge Racer will perhaps offer less than that. Using wireless LAN will have a great effect on how long the battery lasts. However, by making adjustments on the programming side of things, we would like to make it so that for whatever game you play, the announced value is an average." This seems to suggest that SCE is telling developers to hold back on pushing the system to its limits in the interest of maintaining the battery time promise. SCE believes it has some work to do in order to decrease power consumption, thereby increasing battery life. Kutaragi states that there is still possibility for fine tuning on the software front, suggesting that the system may be physically cooler or hotter depending on the game that you play. At the semiconductor level, he comments: "There's debate remaining on which way to go: reducing power use under the current 90nm approach, or moving to 65nm." The 90nm and 65nm processes are different ways of producing the chips in the PSP, with the 65nm process being more advanced and resulting in chips that are smaller, cheaper and consume less power. 90nm, 65nm, twelve hour battery or four hour battery -- the PSP is coming out to Japan on 12/12. Perhaps as big a challenge as Kutaragi and crew adding functionality to the PSP and reducing power consumption will be our attempts at procuring multiple units for a system that will be released in limited quantities of 200,000. Wish us luck on launch day, and stay tuned for more talk from Kutaragi in the near future. Sinceramente credo che se ci sarà un problema di batteria verrà sicuramente risolto entro l'uscita in europa, visto che c'è tutto il tempo per farlo. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------
